KK AT 100 GOLF TOURNAMENT AT STATE HOUSE, LUSAKA.

The State House grounds in Lusaka were transformed into a hub of sporting excellence and national pride on 14th August 2024, as the first-ever KK@100 Golf Tournament teed off in grand style. Organized by the National Museums Board (NMB) in collaboration with the Zambia Tourism Agency, KK Legacy Foundation, and the Tiyende Pamodzi Project, the tournament was a centerpiece in the series of activities commemorating the centenary of Zambia’s founding father and first President, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda.

The prestigious event was officially opened by Mr. Evans Muhanga, the Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Tourism, who added a touch of elegance and enthusiasm to the proceedings. Accompanying him were NMB Board Chairperson Mr. Alexander Mutali, NMB Director General Mr. George Mudenda, and other esteemed NMB Board members, all of whom underscored the significance of honoring Dr. Kaunda’s remarkable legacy through such unifying events.

Golfers and enthusiasts from across the nation and beyond converged at the lush greens of State House to participate in and witness this historic tournament. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and competitive spirit, reflecting Dr. Kaunda’s enduring values of unity, peace, and progress. Participants showcased their golfing prowess while also paying tribute to a leader whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for Zambia’s independence and growth.
